Based on Suheir Hammad's poem of the same name, this was the Mister Thing (aka Pedro Veiga) track with the widest international reach, even airing on MTV World (after I was made to cut the images of President Obama :).
The poem remains timely and should be remembered every day, whenever the ghosts of war rise again. It can be read and heard here.
Mister Thing's "What I Will" is based on the fabulous poem and rendition by its author, Suheir Hammad. It's hard to conjure a video that serves both the joyful music and dance and the hard words and ideas, and this was no doubt our greatest challenge. So we hope it will still connect the words to the images and beat your own drum. Directed, blah blah blah, by Pedro Alves da Veiga.
