Strange.rs is a series of paintings (acrylic on canvas) in which I sought to create almost abstract forms that are in fact human faces and figures. To that end, only light/dark elements were used to define the faces, which were (re)framed to make the forms more mysterious. Seen from a distance, the reading becomes obvious – the face of the unknown (stranger) emerges – but seen up close each painting does become abstract (strange).
