Published on the site on 8 October 2019

The exhibition การเจรจา CONVERSA, a cross-border adventure in cultural and aesthetic experimentation between Asian creatives and Portuguese artists, is on show at Club Farense, in Faro, from 2 to 9 October 2019.

It brings together creative, collaborative and experimental work by students and lecturers of the School of Architecture and Design of King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, in Thailand, and members of the Research Centre in Arts and Communication (CIAC) of the University of the Algarve (UAlg).

The exhibition is part of the work plan of the project "Cultural Adventures – Creative Dialogues Between South East Asia & South West Europe", hosted by CIAC.

In 2018, five creative professionals from South East Asia began a dialogue with five Portuguese artists: Teema Muekthong and Rui António; Bim Sophida and Beatriz Cantinho; Lim Shi Shien and José Alberto Pinto; António Araújo and Hanspeter Ammann; Pedro Alves da Veiga with the project "Hello".

According to CIAC, the exhibition "celebrates the conceptual and (im)material discoveries emerging from this process of distal interaction".

The exhibition, also on show in Bangkok, Thailand, includes a set of works in different media that seek to answer the project's initial question: "How can creative production in art, design and media contribute to dialogue, interaction and exchange between geographies, histories and cultures?"

In Faro, the exhibition is open at Club Farense every day from 16:00 to 18:30 and from 20:30 to 22:30, from 2 to 9 October. The opening took place on 2 October at 18:00.
